On Tuesday, June 8, at around 22 p.m., the Philipsburg police station received several phone calls reporting a robbery, during which a man was reportedly shot and wounded in his home.
Police patrols, criminal investigation personnel and paramedics were directed to Saunders, where they found a man bleeding profusely from a gunshot in the upper body.
According to the first elements gathered on the spot, two young men dressed in black entered the victim's home, where she was with his wife. After shooting him, the thieves then searched the house and stole the money.
Paramedics administered first aid to the victim, before transporting her to Sint Maarten Medical Center in critical condition.
