At the end of the evening of June 16, the Dutch police received several calls concerning an accident which occurred on Brouwers Road involving two vehicles.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the KPSM, the driver of a Santa Fe suddenly veered to the left and collided with another Accent type vehicle which was coming from the opposite direction. The collision caused the Accent to hit the guardrail hard.
As a result of this accident, the driver of the Accent was injured in the lower body, the passenger suffering from chest and lower body pain.
The two people received first aid from the medical team who arrived quickly on the spot.
The investigation determined that the driver of the Santa Fe was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He was arrested and taken into custody at the Philipsburg police station. _AF
