Sint Maarten: Zero Tolerance for people intending to organize “Jouvert Jump-ups”!

0

Dutch police are preparing to take firm action against groups that intend to hold Jouvert Jump-ups this weekend, thus defying Covid-19 protocols put in place by health authorities.

The police have indeed received reliable information from several sources, according to which various groups on the island are preparing Jouvert Jump-up style events. Hundreds of revelers had already braved the bans last year at the height of the epidemic.

"People who participate in this type of illegal action must take into account that they will be arrested and prosecuted," warn the authorities of Sint Maarten.

The organizers of these events are "strongly warned to comply with the Covid-19 protocols established by the government of Sint Maarten, and to cease their attempts to set up such irresponsible activities".

This kind of misconduct on the part of certain groups of the population will not be tolerated by the police, said the spokesperson for the KPSM. Like last year, the police are ready to take firm action against the organizers and participants of this kind of event.

Everyone is warned! _AF
