The Sint Maarten Police Force is deeply concerned by a series of armed robberies which have taken place throughout the last month, particularly in the Cole Bay area.
Several of these armed robberies took place in Cole Bay, primarily targeting individuals as they exited the casinos.
Restaurants and supermarkets were also targeted by criminals on scooters or on foot.
In response to these serious incidents, the Sint Maarten police forces have intensified their efforts to prevent new events and apprehend those responsible for these unspeakable acts. “We are actively working on strategies to increase public safety and restore a sense of security within our community,” underlines the spokesperson for the Dutch police. “We understand the concern and fear that these incidents can cause among the population.
