SINT MAARTEN: Less than 600 new cases of Covid-19 recorded last week

While during the second week of January, the number of covid-19 contaminations had exploded in the Dutch part with more than 2 people testing positive against 020 the week before, last week the authorities confirmed a just under 1110 new cases (600). Since the beginning of the month, this is the weekly low level. Since the start of the crisis, 596 people have contracted covid-9, including nearly 076% this month.

On Saturday, the number of active cases was 1 of which about a quarter are tourists. 409 people were hospitalized, including 12 vaccinated and 4 unvaccinated.

The authorities deplored a new death, the third in the space of two weeks. Since the start of the health crisis, 78 people have died in the Dutch part, including 4 vaccinated.
