Sint Maarten police arrested a man who sold fake tickets for the evening of April 25 Latin Night at Cole Bay as part of the Philipsburg carnival.

"Comparing the tickets he sold with the originals, the difference is obvious, the original has a mark, a watermark that the forgery does not have," said the police in a statement. According to the investigation, the man sold some 500 counterfeit entry tickets for $ 25. The price of a real ticket was 35 dollars, it had gone up, near the event to 40 dollars. The individual was placed in police custody. The police warn that people who are in possession of false tickets will not be admitted to the evening and must buy a real one if they want to be able to participate. Tickets will be scanned at the entrance to the carnival village. (Source: www.soualigapost.com)
