Sint Maarten: The Dutch police will step up the road checks!

0

The Sint Maarten police, in collaboration with the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Justice,  will conduct a number of general traffic controls over the next few weeks. To the best of my mind ...

These checks will focus on the technical documents of the vehicles. However, the focus will also be on drivers who still have not paid road tax for the 2021 calendar year.

Clearly, if controlled motorists have unpaid fines, they will have to pay them immediately. Those who are unable to pay will be able to have their vehicle seized, and violators run the risk of being arrested and taken to the police station, where they will have the option to "pay or stay", under the terms of the law. Tickets can be paid at the District Attorney's Office, Philipsburg Police Station and Receiver's Office, as well as at the Public Service Center located in Simpson Bay.

In case of uncertainty about the amount of unpaid fines, offenders should contact the Public Prosecutor's Office.
