On Monday March 9, around 19:50 p.m., the Sint Maarten police telephone exchange received several calls regarding a shooting allegedly taking place at Pendent Cactus Drive, in the Sucker Garden area.
When they got there, the police and paramedics saw a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. The man had a chest injury, while the woman was shot in the upper body. The two injured received first aid at the scene of the shooting by the emergency services, who then transferred them, in critical condition, to the Sint Maarten Medical Center.
Shortly after the incident, a male minor came to the police station and said that he was involved in the Sucker Garden shooting. The adolescent was immediately arrested and handed over to the detective service responsible for the investigation.
Later that evening, the Sint Maarten Medical Center informed police that the man had died from his injuries. _AF
