SINT MAARTEN / 8th edition of the Pink Sunset Sail: many people gathered for the same cause!

Aqua Mania Adventures organized the 8th edition of the Pink Sunset Sail on September 30, marking the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Welcoming over 150 participants, this event continued its mission to raise awareness and support local foundations dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

This year, the Pink Sunset Sail raised a cool $5 through ticket sales and its popular raffle. The profits will be donated to the Elektralyets and Positive foundations, both dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer and encouraging early detection among women and men in the region. The event brought together 527 enthusiastic participants, split between Aqua Mania's popular sailing catamaran Tango and Out Island Charter's Eagle IV, and embarked on a 150-minute coastal cruise along the beautiful coastline of Saint-Martin. Attendees rushed to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win fabulous prizes, generously sponsored by many local businesses.

Michele Korteweg, event organizer on behalf of Aqua Mania Adventures, shared her thoughts on the growing popularity of the Pink Sunset Sail: “This event continues to grow bigger every year. Honestly, we were delighted to welcome many new guests, both local and passing through the island. The event not only brings people together for an enjoyable evening, it also serves as an educational platform to raise awareness about early detection. Many businesses have also mobilized their staff to participate, whether as part of a team outing or to show their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Out Island Charter's donation of its catamaran is another fantastic example of how local businesses can contribute to the event, as it helped increase the contribution amount for foundations. We hope this much-needed support continues in the years to come.” _AF
