After two consecutive weekly increases, the government of Sint Maarten last week confirmed 37 new cases of Covid-19 (compared to 65 and 47 the previous two weeks), almost 1,8 times less than the week before.

This brings the number of people who have contracted the virus since March to 933. 835 people were declared cured and 74 are still carriers today. Sint Maarten also noted a 24th death last Friday. Six people are hospitalized.

Since the end of October an upsurge in new cases has been observed in part Dutch with, between November 1 and 15, 102 new people infected. As a reminder, in October, 159 new cases had been recorded.

During the last fifteen days, 1441 tests were carried out; people with symptoms are mostly tested. People who have been in contact with a positive case are not necessarily screened (it all depends on their condition). The government indicates that it has carried out 7072 PCR tests since March. Now as much as in part French. According to the latest report of the ARS on November 8, 6906 tests were carried out in part French. (soualigapost.com)
