SENAT: Michel Magras proposes a study on major natural risks

Michel Magras proposed to the members of the overseas delegation to the Senate a subject of study related to the problem of climate change, specifically with regard to natural risks in overseas.

“This study would cover all natural risks and not the only cyclonic risk; it would of course concern all of the overseas territories. Two annual components would be distinguished: a first on the issues of prevention, anticipation and emergency management, then a second on post-crisis management and reconstruction, "he said.

Senator de Saint-Martin Guillaume Arnell was appointed coordinating rapporteur for the study.

First hearings will soon take place in Paris. (Photo credit: Senate)
