The Sandy Ground cultural center is hosting today and tomorrow a conference against illiteracy in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, organized by the education service of the Northern Islands. It is the rector of the Guadeloupe Academy Camille Galap who will open this event at 10:30 am.

“A day against illiteracy took place in Guadeloupe last November. We wanted to decline our own days in relation to our specificities and our expectations. We invite the public and professionals to participate in this conference, says Evelyne Fleming, project manager to the representative of the rector in the Northern Islands Michel Sanz, who is at the initiative of this event on our territory. There will be high profile speakers. We will try to show that illiteracy is not just a matter of national education. Everybody is concerned."
