SAINT-BARTH: Three months suspended prison sentence for a restaurant owner

The owner of a restaurant recently appeared before the local court for carrying out hidden work in November 2018. He was specifically accused of not having declared two of his employees, a woman and a man.

After working for several days, the woman received cash compensation and understood that she was not declared. She then decided to file a complaint with the gendarmerie. As for the bartender, he was in the same situation but was regularized a few days later.

At the bar of the court, the boss indicated that he had asked them "their papers" to be able to declare them but which they never gave him. The prosecution requested a three-month suspended prison sentence.

After deliberating, the court pronounced a sentence in accordance with the requisitions. He received the constitutions of civil party, the boss must pay 150 and 500 euros to the two victims. (soualigapost.com)
