Resumption of development work on the Galion cove

The Conservatoire du Littoral is continuing its restoration and development work on the cove of Galion. Site clean-up and road rehabilitation works were completed at the end of April 2021.

A second work session consisting of installing new signage and looping piles will begin in mid-June, in order to protect the plantations and secure the swimming area and the marking of footpaths. This work completes phase 1 of this development.

In order to prepare for the summer holidays and the arrival of holidaymakers on the site, the planting and beautification work initially scheduled for the last quarter of 2021 will finally be carried out this month.

More than 350 plants adapted to the immediate environment, seaside grapes, mangroves, etc. will come to flesh out the site thus offering shade and freshness. The works will be launched at the end of June.

The installations programmed in the framework of phase 2, in particular the installation of picnic huts decorated with tables, games for children, not to mention the covering of the garbage shelter, are the subject of a contract. public whose specifications are in the process of being finalized.

This contract will be launched at the end of 2021 for work to be carried out in early 2022.

As a reminder: these operations are 80% funded by the State and 20% by the Coastal Conservatory, under the Development Contract, phase 1 of which represents a cost of 400 euros.

Phase 2 will be financed by the Convergence and Transformation Contract (CCT) of Saint-Martin for an estimated amount of 500 euros.
