Award ceremony for innovative and remarkable companies 2015: An excellent vintage 2015!

The 2015 award ceremony for innovative and remarkable companies, organized by Initiative Saint-Martin Active, took place last Friday in Marigot. Three prizes were awarded for an amount of 2 euros per winner. Without forgetting the “Remarkable Company” prize awarded to Laëtitia Gentil and Loïc Lagoutte for the creation of their television channel: “IO TV”.

The award ceremony took place in the presence of all the members of Initiative Saint-Martin Active, of its president Jean-Paul Fischer, of its director, of the partner banks (BDAF and Crédit mutuel), with the support of the State, the Collectivity, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, the Interprofessional Consular Chamber of Saint-Martin (CCISM) and private partners including Dauphin Télécom.

Marc Chakhtoura, director of Initiative Saint-Martin Active, explained that the candidates for the "Innovation" competition presented their project to the Approval Committee of Initiative Saint-Martin Active on March 23. The files were then evaluated on numerous criteria, including:

- The character of innovation, originality, technological breakthrough

- The extent of the scope covered by the innovation

- The local, regional, national or international economic benefits envisaged

- The relevance of the application in relation to its category

Prize winners

of the “Innovation” 2015:

CCISM Prize / Evry Gibelin (BAM Caribbean)

“We are proposing a new process for manufacturing ecological mosquito kiosks in the Antilles. These terminals allow an improvement in the quality of life on environmental points and public health ”.

Collectivity of Saint-Martin Prize / Sarah Khalfaoui (Island Media Plus Foundation)

“My project is about setting up an annual audiovisual production festival for young people aged 16-25. Each year, the short films will be oriented around a theme aimed at raising awareness among young people ”.

Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations Awards / Alexandre Chapelin (The Table)

“My idea is to give back an artistic and useful life to objects or materials considered dead. Using a unique manufacturing process, it makes a table a centerpiece of interior decor, just like a painting, sculpture or any work of art ”.

In total, three prizes were awarded for an amount of 2 euros per winner. To this endowment, a loan of honor can be granted to each of the winners of a maximum amount of 000 euros at 40% (according to the needs of entrepreneurs).

Also during the evening, the “Outstanding Company” award has been awarded to Laëtitia Gentil and Loïc Lagoutte for the creation of their television channel: "IO TV" intended to enhance Saint-Martin, its resources and its heritage. Long live "IO TV!" " _AF
