DISTRICT OF ORLEANS: A telephone antenna sows discord

0

At the end of December, the inhabitants of Quartier d'Orléans discovered a mobile telephone antenna placed on a trailer and stored on land rented by Dauphin Telecom from a local resident. They are, since, amazed and in the misunderstanding.

In 2019, the local telephone operator chose this land to install a pylon. He has, as the law obliges him, deposited a building permit but the permit was refused.

“If it was refused, then why did they put this antenna on this site?” Asks Patricia Helliger, president of the association Ensemble pour Quartier d'Orléans. "Monday of last week, they pulled a red sheath through which an electric cable runs from the EDF meter to the antenna", comments Patricia Helliger who, with the other members of the association, fears that Dauphin will permanently erect this temporary antenna. "We are not against the antenna, against progress, but we do not want it to be installed near houses," said the president.

When questioned, Eve Riboud, the Managing Director of Dauphin Telecom, assures us that it is a "temporary antenna", that is to say an antenna which is deployed on an ad hoc basis on certain sites and which is in this moment stored on this land. “This type of antenna requires regular maintenance, which is why our technician went to the site and connected the antenna,” she continues. "But this antenna is not intended to be deployed on this site in a sustainable manner", wishes to reassure Eve Riboud. (soualigapost.com)
