Have you never heard of Padel? Small presentation: It is a racket sport in full development in France and also in Saint-Martin with the 5th Set Academy club of Sandy-Ground!
The International Padel Federation maintains that sport was born in Mexico in 1969 thanks to the initiative of Enrique Corcuera. Today, it is experiencing a strong expansion to the four corners of the planet where practitioners are more and more numerous.
Padel like tennis consists of an exchange of balls between two opposing camps. The opposing parties, respectively called the server and the receiver, can place themselves where they wish as long as they do not go beyond their square.
To do this, the game includes essential stages including service, exchange and rebound.
The 5th Set Academy tennis club invites the public to come and discover this popular discipline for free, this Sunday, November 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the courts located at Sandy-Ground (opposite the former Simply Market).
The club's objective is to organize the 1st official French Padel Tour tournament in Saint-Martin.
The godmother of the new Padel club is Alix Colombo (N ° 1 French in Padel)
Otherwise, two professional coaches manage the 5th Set Academy Tennis and Padel, namely Laurent Paillusseau (former coach of Elina Svitolina, 5th player in the world) and Andrey Rublev (68th in the world) and Alexandre Schvartz (former Pro player (ranked -2/6) ). _AF
