The Water and Sanitation Establishment of Saint-Martin (EEASM) will organize next month the first days of water in our territory in order to raise awareness of the importance of this property.
This event - which will take place on June 9 and 10 at different sites - was presented last week at the Hôtel de la Collectivité by COM vice-president Guillaume Arnell, EEASM director Patrick Lenz and president from EEASM Louis Fleming: Saint-Martin is "a dry island" and "we need this food at all times" because of "an average rainfall of 3 to 4 months per year".
Among the topics covered, the desalination process, collective and non-collective sanitation and good reflexes to preserve the environment. Many guests from neighboring islands will discuss this water issue, said Mr. Arnell. We will return to the program for these two days in a future edition. _EH
