New health rule in Juliana: The test deadline is no longer 72 but 120 hours!

The government of Sint Maarten has just announced that any person coming from a country at high risk for Covid-19 or moderate and arriving on its territory must present the negative results of a PCR test dating back 120 hours (5 days) and no more than 72 hours (3 days). Boarding will also be denied by airlines to people with flu-like symptoms and / or fever.

1. An rt-PCR test for the SARS-COV-2 virus obtained from a nasopharyngeal sample only and carried out within 120 hours before departure for Sint Maarten (last step in case of connecting flights) is required for all travelers from a country. which is classified as high or moderate risk. Other tests such as antibody tests or antigen tests and tests performed outside of this 120 hour period will not be accepted.

2. Travelers residing and traveling from a low-risk country are exempt from the mandatory rt-PCR test.

3. Travelers who reside in a low risk country but have visited a moderate or high risk country within the 14 days prior to departure for Sint Maarten, should also undergo an rt-PCR test for the SARS-COV-2 virus performed in the 120 hours preceding the departure for Sint Maarten (last stop in case of a connection).

4. The original result of this test should be uploaded as soon as possible as part of the health clearance request process for processing. The treatment takes 6 to 8 hours. The test result should clearly specify the name of the laboratory, the name of the test subject, the date of the test, the type of test administered and how the test sample was obtained. Typed, written or emailed statements from physicians or non-laboratories will not be accepted.

5. Children 10 and under are exempt from the mandatory rt-PCR test. From the day after the 10th anniversary, an rt-PCR test should be submitted. _AF
