Crossing Saint-Martin - Anguilla

Following the death of his best friend, Sylvie Simon, who recently died of a long illness, David Redor wished to pay tribute to her by swimming, crossing Saint-Martin - Anguilla.

I wanted to place on the beach of Shoal Bay, in Anguilla, a Queen Conch engraved in his memory, ”underlines David Redor. “So I left Grand-Case beach at 9 am in the direction of Shoal Bay, where I arrived 45 hours and 5 minutes later. I had by my side an assistance boat on which my friends were, whom I would like to thank: Gégé the skipper, Pat the supervisor and Nico the doctor. I also thank Fred from the Bull Dog Café in Grand-Case who made his boat available to me.

I placed the seashell at the foot of a palm tree on the beach at Schoal Bay and I turned it towards Saint-Martin, the island where my friend lived for many years.

In passing, I set a new record for the distance swum between the two islands since the longest distance was 12,6 km. It is now 15 km away! ” _AF
