A particularly active rapper from the Sexion d'Assaut group, Gims has become an essential artist on the French scene. His concert scheduled for tonight at Galisbay promises to be grand!
Very quickly turned to rap music, Gims feeds on artists like Nate Dogg, 50 Cent, Michal Jackson or Eminem. He entered the rap scene just like his brothers Dadju, Bedjik and Xgangs. Maître Gims grew up in Paris, where he met his friends from the Sexion d'Assaut. In 2003, the rapper released his first titles with his group, while integrating the 3rd Prototype duo.
In 2005, Sexion d'Assaut released a first album: La Terre du milieu, of which Maître Gims illustrated the cover. The following year, Maître Gims begins production and composes several instrumental acts, which he presents in his maxi “For those who sleep with their eyes open”, which remains confidential.
In 2009, Maître Gims made his first tour in France with the Sexion d'Assaut. Author, composer and performer, the rapper has written numerous songs from the album "L'Ecole des Points Vitaux", in particular "Reverse cap". The group's success allows the Sexion d'Assaut label, Wati B, and Maître Gims to make themselves known all over France.
Building on this success, Maître Gims began a solo career, presenting several unreleased tracks on YouTube, with the series of videos entitled "This is not a clip", where the rapper gradually unveils his latest songs. This communication work, much appreciated by the fans, is preparing the release of Subliminal, the first solo album released in 2013.
With the first titles of his album, "J'me tire", "Meurtre par Strangulation" and "Bella", Maître Gims has proven that he has his place on the French rap scene. In May 2013, he gave his first Olympia. A highly appreciated artist, Maître Gims has made numerous collaborations, notably with Stromae and Orelsan. He also continues to work within the group Sexion d'Assaut with which he is preparing a new album.
From the “Sexion d'Assaut” to the “Fuego tour”, GIMS, the 33-year-old artist, the first French-speaking rapper to fill the Stade De France, will celebrate in 2020 his 10-year career! On this occasion, GIMS is preparing a new album and the DECADE TOUR. 12 Unique Dates (10 dates in France, 1 date in Belgium, 1 date in Luxembourg) where GIMS will retrace the most beautiful moments of its 10 years of career, accompanied on stage by surprise and prestigious guests.
