Music: Artist and wine merchant

Music, he fell into it when he was very little. Son of Gérard La Viny, the creator of the song “Without shirt, without pants” and “Ban mwen un ti bo”, hits taken up by many artists, Eddy La Viny continued the career of his illustrious father. While in Saint-Martin, on the occasion of the presentation of the Gault and Millau guide, Eddy confides in his career and his passion for rum.

"I always sing," says the Guadeloupe artist, but not that, since he affirms, with a frank smile, to have invented a profession called "cellar artist". Because Eddy La Viny has two loves in his life, music and rum. “But rum, to the point that I became an expert (…) I learned a lot, frequented a lot of great masters, I visited all the distilleries, I spoke with the cellar masters to know some secrets of winery ”. The cellar artist teaches in mainland France and does Master Classes, he created the Maison du Rhum in Paris and has just opened a second unit. And despite all that, "I am continuing my galas, since I have just returned from a tour in Reunion with twelve musicians".

With his father, they created the Show La Viny with musicians and dancers, but it was Eddy who took the show around the world during the years 2000-2010. Indeed, Gérard La Viny hated the plane following the crash of a Boeing on Guadeloupe in 1962, in which his father was. The Show La Viny travels the world and China, Japan, the Middle East, the United States, Brazil, England and even Africa host the Caribbean show. But his love of rum is essential, and he is regularly sought out as a consultant for the Gault et Millau Rum guide, with whom "we are having a very, very good time"._RM
