The association of sea trades, Metimer, had wished for years, the community has decided to set up a nautical commission.
Elected officials voted for its creation in late January. It is a commission which will bring together permanent representatives of the COM and the State as well as five nautical professionals, the latter will be selected according to the themes to be addressed.
All the projects carried out by the community relating to the sea must be presented to the members of this commission who will be invited to give their opinion. "It is the commission that will decide on the use of the maritime domain," said Bulent Gulay at the Metimer general assembly.
Two commissions are already scheduled to address the use of the eastern bay body of water and the Fort Louis marina projects.
