Slight drop in unemployment in Saint Martin

Pôle emploi Guadeloupe has just unveiled the latest unemployment figures for the month of December 2015. The number of job seekers has dropped slightly in Saint-Martin.

At the end of December 2015, the number of job seekers registered with Pôle emploi in category A in our territory thus decreased by 3,83% (-169 people) compared to the end of November, according to Pôle emploi. In detail, 4238 individuals were looking for work, including 2528 women and 1710 men. In Saint-Barthélemy, the figures are also encouraging with a drop of 11,23% (- 42 people).

Small drop also in Guadeloupe

The number of job seekers in category A stood at 57.090 in December 2015. This number decreased by 0,5% over one month (-260 people).

The year ends with a record in mainland France

The Ministry of Labor announced worrying unemployment figures last Wednesday. The number of job seekers in category A increased by 15.800 people (+ 0,4%) in December 2015. The year therefore ended badly with a record 3,59 million unemployed in mainland France. If we take into account overseas and active job seekers, this figure rises to 5,78 million.
