Slight drop in unemployment in Saint Martin

Unemployment fell 0,7% last month in Saint Martin. The number of job seekers (category A) stands at 4.264 for the month of January, according to the regional directorate for business, competition, consumption, labor and employment (DIECCTE) of Guadeloupe. 

Over a three-month period, we see that unemployment drops by 0,9%, but increases by 0,9% over one year in Saint-Martin. In January, the number of job seekers (category A) fell by 8,1% for those under 25 and by 1,4% for those aged 50 and over. In detail, 1.735 men and 2.529 women are registered with Pôle emploi. Finally, the number of job seekers for categories A, B and C stood at 4.757 at the end of January.

In Saint-Barthélemy, the number of job seekers (category A) stood at 346 in January. This number decreased by 5,7% over three months and by 1,7% over a year. In January, the number of job seekers (category A) fell by 7,5% for men and increased by 4,2% for women.
