Government decides to provide exceptional support of € 62 million for the Northern Islands

The government announces in a press release signed by the Prime Minister as well as the Ministers of Health, the Interior and the Ecological Transition, the establishment of exceptional support of 62 million euros for the communities of Saint Martin and Saint-Barthélemy.

"As part of the support measures for the community of Saint-Martin very hard hit by Hurricane Irma, the amending finance law will open € 50 million in credits allowing the community to cope with its loss of tax bases", Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced in a press release. "In addition, in the amending finance law, the State will bear, up to € 12 million, the property tax rebates for 2017 decided by the community after the passage of Irma", continues the press release.

First section signed in Saint-Martin
