Vaccination against Covid-19 is declining in Saint-Martin

The pace of vaccination against Covid-19 slowed last week in the French part with 874 doses administered against 1 the week before.

For the first time, the number of first doses injected is lower than the number of second doses. 377 people received a first dose and 497 their second. It is also the first time since the end of April that this number has been so low. A total of 11 people received at least one dose, including 989 both.

The French part is the territory furthest behind in vaccination compared to the Dutch part, Saint-Barth and Anguilla. In Anguilla nearly 14 doses were administered, ie 560 more than in Saint-Martin where the population is at least double.  More than 5 people have a complete vaccination schedule. In Saint-Barth, nearly 500 people have also received at least one dose, 9 people have a complete vaccination schedule. The official population of the two islands is almost fully vaccinated.

St Maarten is also gradually approaching its target of 41 injected doses. To date, nearly 100 doses have been administered and the difference between the number of first and second doses is narrowing: 38 still have to receive a dose and 100 have already been fully vaccinated. (soualigapost.com)
