Since their opening in December 2014, the territorial archives of Saint-Martin have welcomed 678 readers for 3200 archival documents communicated. So that today genealogical research represents 80% of requests. In 2016, 339 people went to the archives room to carry out genealogical research. In all, they consulted 1350 documents. "The demand is growing more and more," says Stéphanie Dargaud, director of the Territorial and Heritage Archives. In addition to that of individuals, administrative demand (notaries, genealogical firms) increased by 81% last year.
