Biodiversity in all its forms

Nicolas Maslach, director of the Saint-Martin Nature Reserve, announced at the beginning of the year: the Caribbean Biodiversity Institute is one of the reserve's major challenges. A new step has just been taken: the architectural firm Véronique Descharrières was chosen - following the competition launched in 2015 - to build this institute. “The reserve is proud to make its contribution to the scientific and cultural development of Saint-Martin through this institute which also affirms its tourist and economic vocation”, specifies the journal of the reserve in its latest edition. The study of the project - which could open its doors in Cul-de-Sac within two years - will continue this year, until the filing of the building permit.
