Justice: One year in prison for threatening ex with gun

0

Thursday, January 24, around 23:30 p.m., JL.C goes to Cul de Sac with his ex-girlfriend, JI was presented Wednesday January 30 before the criminal court of Saint Martin in immediate appearance.

JI lives with his uncle, HR. D. That evening they went to the cinema with BW, the young woman's new companion. They returned to Cul de Sac a few minutes ago, when JL.C appeared in the courtyard. When JI realizes who is in the yard, she will wake up her uncle. He gets up and goes out into the courtyard armed with a metal curtain rod. "I saw that he had a pistol in his hand which he held along his leg so I hit him with my iron bar. JL.C started pointing his gun at me and threatening me, then he shot, ”reports HR. D. Fortunately, the weapon must have become derailed since no bullet came out of it.

A few meters away, on the doorstep, JI observes the scene, preventing his new companion from leaving. When she realizes that JL.C has a gun and that he points it at her uncle, she asks BW to go get her phone to call the gendarmes. She waits for someone to pick up when JL.C approaches points her gun at them, orders BW to leave and shouts: "I know that you live in Colebay I will come to kill you". Then they hear a shot, see him looking at his foot before running away. Even if JL.C maintains the opposite, he has just shot himself in the leg. The conclusions of the medical examiner are formal: the shot is vertical and in direct contact. The defendant, presented before the Saint-Martin Criminal Court in immediate appearance Wednesday January 30, accuses the other three of having shot him. But the forensic finding invalidates this version. Likewise, he did not convince the court when he explained that after being injured he preferred to go home first to Quartier d'Orléans to find help rather than go directly to the hospital.

Even if the investigators did not find it, he admits having carried a weapon "which does not work well". According to the deputy prosecutor, several elements prove that the facts are established and the offense characterized. He believes that JL.C is dangerous and requires two years in prison and continued detention.

After deliberation, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to one year in prison with continued detention. He must compensate the victims, who are civil parties, up to 1000 euros each. Finally, he is prohibited from holding a weapon subject to authorization for five years.
