They had started under the former mandate and had been delayed due to technical problems. and administrative.

This new enclosure is used by the 1st and 2nd degree schools with which the COM has an agreement. Outside of school hours, it is open to 14 approved sports associations, and on Sunday morning to non-approved sportsmen.

- The repair of the roof of the stands of the Vanterpool stadium will be "finalized before the end of June 2019", announces Daniel Gibbs. And lighting next March for an amount of 350 euros.

 Sports equipments schools

- The lighting of the football field of the Robert Weinum school complex, which represents a cost of 250 euros, will be operational by the end of next April.

- The sports facilities of the Collège de Quartier d'Orléans and the vocational school have been renovated. "The Mont des Accords college will in turn benefit from the new infrastructures with their equipment before the end of the first half of 2019", announces the president of the COM.

- "The primary schools have all been equipped with sports equipment and especially new equipment in schoolyards for a total cost of 200 euros", he adds. There remains the Hervé Williams school which will be equipped before the start of the 000-2019 school year.

 Thelbert Carti stadium in Quartier of Orleans

A new building will be built to house a one-stop information desk for associations, an accommodation center for sportspeople, a sports hall. Team Gibbs wishes to make this project a reality before the end of its mandate in 2022.

 Sports facilities in the different districts

- The work on the Concordia plateau was delivered in October 2018 for an amount of 400 euros. However, they are still in progress at Friar's Bay and at La Savane. “They have been completely redesigned. The end of the work is scheduled for early March for a total amount of € 000 ”, underlines the president of the COM.

- The reception of the work of the Cul de Sac plateau is scheduled for the end of March, which will be transformed into an outdoor futsal field with the installation of a synthetic floor. The cost of this development amounts to 150 €.

- In Grand Case, the football field is being repaired with the leveling of the ground thanks to the help of the association Solidarité Laïque. “The field will be secure, sports equipment will be installed no later than mid-April. The cost of this work is 13 €. The Grand Case sports area located near the former MJC has been renovated for an amount of 500 € ”.

 Creation of a Sports Palace in Savannah

Another major project planned for the medium term is the creation of a Sports Palace on the Savane site, which will replace the Omnisports hall in Galisbay. There will be a 1500-seat gymnasium and related sports areas. The various studies on the feasibility of the project are in progress. A project not only important for the youth of the territory but also and above all for the population as a whole. This building is designed to serve as a very secure shelter in the event of natural phenomena.
