The Saint-Martin Criminal Court examined on February 28 three different cases of concealed labor, among which that of CA, 51, from Israel, absent at the hearing, was summoned for the acts committed between 2015 and 2017.

For two years he had employed without declaring it and pretending to be a claimant, a foreigner without a work permit. Among other things, he had him fix phones and paid him $ 20 a piece in cash. During his hearing by the gendarmes, he acknowledged having used him without a DPAE or a contract, but said that he did not know that he did not have a work permit on the territory. His criminal record counting three convictions for fraud, forgery and embezzlement, the vice-prosecutor stressed that "he used to commit offenses in the same field". The court found CA guilty and fined him 2000 euros.
