Joon takes over from Air France in Saint-Martin

The latest addition to the French group Air France, Joon aims to be a “hybrid” company, halfway between a low-cost company and a conventional company. Betting on a target of younger customers, since December 1st, it has been trying to seduce by its messages, by the revisited uniforms of the flight attendants (polo shirt and sneakers for all). Today, it is in Saint-Martin that she puts her luggage during the summer period.

From August 04, 2018 to October 27, 2018, Air France decided to delegate the task of operating the two weekly flights that arise on the island to its new subsidiary Joon. A daily flight to Saint-Martin-Espérance Airport (SFG) with its usual Pointe-à-Pitre connection provided by Air Antilles, as well as a direct flight from Princess Juliana Airport (SXM) on Wednesdays. The flights will be provided by the A340-300 which can carry 278 passengers against the old Airbus A330-200 which contained only 208.

The promises of a company such as Joon lie in the attractiveness of prices. Since its launch in December, flights to Europe have posted prices starting at € 49 to Barcelona for example. First price which includes only the seat on the plane, as the customer and his wallet add checked baggage, meals or blanket… Now remains to be seen if the prices that Joon will offer on the Saint Martin Island will be really low cost.
