Senator Guillaume Arnell sent a written question to the Minister of Agriculture, Stéphane Le Foll, concerning the extension to young ultramarine farmers of the "Top-up young farmers" program. Indeed, these professionals encounter the same difficulties as those residing in metropolitan France. “They do not benefit from the young farmer grant which consists of start-up financial assistance and subsidized loans. Thus, young ultramarine farmers can neither foresee nor make the investments necessary for the realization of their project. ” To benefit from this assistance, it is necessary in particular to present a business plan (PE) and to be over 18 years and less than 40 years at the time of the presentation of the request, according to the government.
