Uniting skills to better combat crime and ensure the safety of citizens, this is the objective of the coordination agreement between the gendarmerie and the territorial police of Saint-Martin signed yesterday between the State and the Collectivity.

In the Community's VIP lounge, the prefect Anne Laubies, accompanied by the corps general Bertrand Soubelet and the vice-president Ramona Connor, representing the president Aline Hanson, signed a coordination agreement between the gendarmerie and the territorial police, in the presence of Colonel Descoux, the squadron chief Manzoni, Captain Maignan and the director of the territorial police Albert Conner. This convention thus opens the way to enhanced operational cooperation in the area of road safety, the fight against crime and drug addiction, the security of the various districts of the island, the fight against pollution, nuisance and incivility. It also aims to prevent and combat the consumption of alcohol on the public highway. The maintenance of order by the gendarmes and the good knowledge of the terrain of the territorial police officers are indeed complementary for the security of the population. In particular, they will be able to rely on the Urban Supervision Center (CSU) which is the key element in terms of resolving investigations carried out jointly by the gendarmerie and the territorial police. _AF
