Students enrolled in a private establishment without contract or in the family wishing to register in a public school establishment are invited to complete the registration form for the knowledge test.

This registration form is either to be downloaded from the website of the National Education Service (SENIDN) or at the reception of the National Education Service at Mall West Indies in Marigot.

Complete files must be submitted before Monday, April 18 and the knowledge check will take place on Wednesday, May 18.

For information, memorandum no. 81-173 of April 16, 1981 governs the admission to public education of students in private education without a contract.

When a family educates a child in a private establishment outside the contract and wants him to join public education, there are constraints:

- The family must live in the French part of Saint-Martin;

- The child must take a test to assess his level;

- Following this test, the family does not choose the establishment it wants but respects the sectorization which applies in the same way for everyone.

Given the large proportion of students educated in non-contract schools in Saint-Martin, it is proposed to group together students wishing to integrate public education in order to have them take the test in the following establishments:

• For the “school” test: Ecole Emile Choisy

• For the “college” test: Collège Mont des Accords

• For the “high school” test: Lycée Robert Weinum

Students who have been educated at home must also take the test to enter or re-enter public education.

The “school” test concerns pupils who apply for entry to elementary school and 6th grade.

The "college" test concerns students who wish to enter public education in 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd.

The "high school" test concerns students who wish to enter public education in 1st and Terminale.

The tests will be designed and corrected by a team formed into a committee under the responsibility of:

• The National Education inspector for the “school” test;

• The principal of the Mont-des-Accords college for the “college” test;

• Robert Weinum high school principal for the “high school” test.

On the basis of the scale that it will have established, the commission will give a favorable or unfavorable opinion for the transition to the next level.

If the opinion is favourable, the student can continue his education in a public establishment.  of his sector in the desired class.

If the opinion is unfavorable, the student cannot continue his education in the desired class. He is offered maintenance in the class level in the public establishment  of his sector.

The family can accept the proposal to maintain or continue schooling in an establishment outside the contract.
