0

The 2018-2028 territorial sports development plan, adopted by the Territorial Council on April 26, 2018, drew up an inventory of the situation and set up ten-year strategic axes in sports matters in Saint-Martin.

The two main facilities are located in areas with high population density, Marigot and Quartier d'Orléans, and have already undergone the first phases of work in recent years: The Thelbert Carti stadium in Quartier d'Orléans and the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium in Marigot.

Thus, it is appropriate to launch the renovation and development of the Albéric Richards stadium by carrying out a first phase of work to reconstruct the fence, for a total cost of €1,6 million.

The reconstruction work on the fence of the Albéric Richards stadium will be carried out internally thanks to the All Trades contract (TCE), on the basis of the soil and topography studies already finalized.

The Collectivity is requesting co-financing for the first phase of the Albéric Richards stadium renovation and fitting-out works up to 34,4% of eligible expenses.

On 15 September, the Executive Board decided to approve the first phase of the Albéric Richards Stadium renovation and fitting-out works for a total cost of one million six hundred thousand euros (€1) and approve the operation's financing plan  and to seek co-financing from the State under the exceptional investment fund for sports projects and the 2019-2022 Convergence and Transformation Contract (€550 State and €000 COM).

The start of the renovation work on the Albéric Richards stadium will certainly delight the many sports enthusiasts on the island. While waiting to evolve on a new playground. _AF
