COVID-19: The epidemiological dynamic continues to improve in St-Martin unlike Saint-Barth


The latest health bulletin published by the Regional Health Agency indicates that “the epidemiological dynamic has experienced two different evolutions on the northern islands; on Saint-Martin it continues to improve while on Saint-Barthélemy it has deteriorated sharply”.

In the French part, 13 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded against 20 the previous week. Since Monday September 19 (current week), only one case has been identified out of 118 analyzes carried out.

Conversely on the sister island of Saint-Barth, 11 people tested positive.  against 8 last week.

Since Monday, 2 new cases have been recorded out of 23 analyzes carried out.

In Saint-Martin, the incidence rate stands at 36,4/100 inhabitants, against 000/56,0 the previous week and at 100/000 inhabitants, against 112,3/100 in St. Barts. 

The weekly positivity rate increases to 4,5% (against 5,7%) in Saint-Martin and to 10,4% against 5,4% in Saint-Barth.

Note that no patient was hospitalized last week, either in Saint-Martin or Saint-Barth.

Facility directors retain the option of making it compulsory for people aged 6 and over to wear a mask in the healthcare facilities for which they are responsible (hospitals, medico-social structures and establishments, pharmacies, medical offices, laboratories). _AF
