Gendarmes from the company of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin have participated, since the beginning of this month of October, in the preparation for the technical examination of judicial police officer (OPJ) which takes place in Guadeloupe.
The soldiers from the North Islands are among the twenty gendarmes, from different Guadeloupe companies, who are taking part in this revision course. They are supervised by an educational team made up of a junior officer and two senior officers from the Pointe-à-Pitre company.
The trainees benefited from the recommendations of an assistant officer in charge of the judicial police (OAPJ), as well as two laureates who participated in the OPJ technical review of the 2018 session, and who shared their very recent experience and also answered certain questions.
Obtaining the qualification of OPJ allows the gendarmes to take the direction of judicial investigations, under cover of the military hierarchy and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office. In addition, the qualification of OPJ offers the possibility to gendarmes to contribute to internal advancement and to access command posts._RM
