Gendarmerie: Training of technicians in local criminal identification (TICP) in Saint-Martin

0

Last week, eight soldiers from the gendarmerie brigades of Marigot and Espérance in Saint-Martin, were trained in technical and scientific police (PTS). They obtained the qualification of Technician in Criminal Identification of Proximity (TICP), at the end of the training provided by three gendarmes experts of the CIC (cell of criminal identification).

Lasting three days, this instruction allows personnel to acquire the techniques necessary to perform simple forensic operations, such as DNA samples or fingerprinting. The TICP are the first link in the chain of technical and scientific police and only operate on offenses relating to mass delinquency (burglaries, damage, damage to property). They are equipped with specific equipment (research and trace sampling case, DNA sampling case, etc.) enabling them to fulfill all of their missions. These traces or clues will be transmitted for analysis, with a view to identifying the authors.

The eight new technicians thus join the 18 staff already trained in the two territorial brigades of Saint Martin.
