The France team launches its European Championship at the Stade de France this evening (21 p.m.) against Romania. This opening match, against an opponent within their reach, should allow the Blues to become the bosses of their pool.
Eighteen years after France - South Africa (3-0) who launched the Blues to victory at the World Cup in Marseille, the France team begins its Euro 2016 at home against Romania with the same results requirement. Start a Euro against the Romanians, France knows. This will be the third time in six Euro finals, after 1996 (1-0) and 2008 (0-0).
Pogba, Lloris and other Matuidi must succeed in this entry against a nation which has drawn a draw in Italy this season (2-2) and which has never exceeded the quarter-finals (2000).

The draw conceded when they entered the Euro had hurt the Blues eight years ago. With a score of parity against the weakest opponent in the group, they had taken the only point of a catastrophic first round. But don't panic: France has not lost against Romania in 44 years and 10 matches.
