Organized by Métimer, the association of seafarers, the next edition of the Fête de la mer will be launched on May 28 on the beach of Grand-Case.
During two days, the various nautical operators of the island - for the moment about fifteen professionals - will introduce participants to their nautical activities: kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing, hobbie cat, Hawaiian canoe, diving, catamaran, etc. Like the previous editions, tickets will be on sale at 1 € / 1 $ to practice an activity. This year, “the profits of the festival will be donated to young athletes selected to represent Saint-Martin in international competitions”, specifies Bulent Gulay, President of Métimer, during a press conference last Wednesday at the association, accompanied by the coordinator Maëlle Cherrier. A swimming area animated by lifeguards and floating cubes - to accommodate more people in certain areas - are among the new features of this 2016 edition, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m. _EH
