A 70-year-old American tourist drowned last Wednesday on Mullet Bay Beach.
The Sint-Maarten police indicated in a statement that they had received a call concerning this person, still in the water, who showed no sign of life. She left for a swim, and was found with her head underwater, lifeless. Cardiac massage was performed by paramedics who rushed to the scene but the victim could not be resuscitated.
