The sad news fell this morning: the lifeless body of a man was discovered Wednesday, in the middle of the afternoon, by fishermen in the area of Anse Marcel.
The seafarers saw a body floating in the water, in a rocky area with little bottom. To free the body, the gendarmes had to seek help from the SNSM (National Society for Rescue at Sea). The operation was carried out jointly with the nautical brigade, the gendarmes of Esperance as well as the technicians in criminal identification.
To date, the person has not yet been identified. Note that no disappearance has been reported by the authorities of Sint Maarten and Anguilla.
An investigation was opened to determine the causes and circumstances of the death. _AF
