The Omer Arrondell school in Quartier d'Orléans suffered serious damage last weekend. People entered the establishment and ransacked 8 rooms and the management office, the community said. The gendarmerie made the first observations and took the fingerprints. An investigation is underway.

Anyone with information is invited to contact the Savane gendarmerie.

Beyond the destruction of school materials, the premises were soiled with paint spilled on the floors, furniture, windows and walls. The Collectivity “strongly condemns the behavior of those who willfully destroy the public good. This school welcomes young children during the school year, they are the first victims of these intolerable acts, ”she explains.

“The people behind this act of vandalism must be apprehended. The school is in a deplorable state not to mention the waste of school materials to the detriment of the students. There is paint everywhere… All the classrooms are dirty. People may have seen something ... I invite them to inform the gendarmerie or the community education service. Obviously, we will do what is necessary to ensure that the school is cleaned and can accommodate the pupils at the start of the school year but we did not need that ”, declares the third vice-president Sofia Carti-Codrington, in charge education.
