EVENT: Beautiful celebration of Art en Fête in Quartier d'Orléans

Last Monday, the seventh edition of Art en Fête was launched at the Roche Gravée de Moho middle school in Quartier d'Orléans. A morning dedicated to the show with songs, dances and theatre, all performed by several students from kindergarten to final year.

L'Art en Fête, which runs until May 20, is part of the D'PASS 2020-2023 academic project which aims to develop artistic and cultural education. The theme of the 2022 edition is KARIBHEART, a portmanteau that promotes the Caribbean, heart/love and art. This Monday, May 2, the Principal of the Rock engraved college of Moho spoke before the big show, welcoming this educational action and thanking all the speakers. Michel Sanz, vice-rector, underlined the importance of art in the school curriculum, artistic disciplines greatly contributing to the development of children and to better results. The budding artists came from the Siméonne Trott and Jean Anselme nursery schools, the Marie-Antoinette Richards school, the Clair Saint-Maximin elementary school, the Soualiga college and of course, the Quartier d'Orléans college which hosted the event.. The public made up of teams from different schools enjoyed the performances of the students. The show began with the national and local anthems, brilliantly performed by the small and medium sections of the Siméonne Trott nursery school, which then honored the West Indian folk dance “La ri Zabim”. Other Caribbean dances, sketches and typical songs (choucoune, La chica de Cuba, Oh mon île au soleil, van lévé, Oye como va) followed one another showing the great talent of all the children. A large exhibition was also presented in the premises of the college, whether in the auditorium or in the hall. The works presented  are the product of all the students who participated in the Karibheart project. They are visible until May 10 at the college of Quartier d'Orléans. The exhibition will then move from May 12 to 20 to the Collège du Mont des Accords in Concordia. On the music side, the school and college choirs will give a concert on Tuesday May 10 at 17 p.m. in the canteen of the Soualiga college at the Cité Scolaire Robert Weinum. 200 places are available, contact the management of the establishment to reserve. And finally, the theater will be at the party thanks to the students of the Soualiga college. The stage of the Théâtre de la Chapelle will be taken over by young artists with a musical around the Caribbean on Friday May 6 at 19 p.m., a theatrical performance of "Don Juan" in three languages ​​on Saturday May 7 at 19 p.m. close this artistic weekend of Art en Fête, a concert and choreographies of the CHAM class of 6th grade on Sunday May 8 at 18 p.m. Reservations should be addressed to the college directly. _VX
