On July 17, the Collectivity launched a call for tenders to remove the wreck El Maud, which has been in the Baie de la Potence in Marigot for more than twenty years. A company from the Netherlands specializing in this type of work which it carries out on a regular basis in the Caribbean was selected for an amount of around 385 euros. It was to start removal at the end of August.
The barge arrived during the day on Sunday; construction began on Monday.
