0

In accordance with its investment plan for the benefit of water services in Saint-Martin, the EEASM will begin the rehabilitation work of the Potable Water Production Plant (UPEP) from February 2021, for a period of a few months.

This rehabilitation project represents a significant investment and a budgetary effort of 4.5 M €. The Plant is made up of three drinking water production lines which will be shut down successively in order to be able to carry out maintenance work aimed primarily at improving the performance of each of the lines. The logical consequence is that the production will be the time of the work altered.

This improvement in yield is the first step in securing production volumes imposed by Saint-Martin consumption.

The EEASM asks the population to make an effort to control consumption during the construction period, so as not to put in difficulty the distribution of drinking water and to avoid sector cuts.

A second step with no impact on the consumer and requiring a new investment of 4.5 M € will allow full production security to be achieved with the construction of a 4th reverse osmosis line.

Along the water, the rehabilitation works of the supply networks as well as of the sewerage networks are continuing with the objective of the complete rehabilitation of the water service in Saint-Martin.

The EEASM thanks the population for the good consideration of this information which will allow the functional maintenance of the public water service. As soon as work begins in February, dedicated communication will be deployed to inform users in real time of any disruptions and the progress of the work.
