This Thursday, October 13, 2022, an exhibition and a conference-debate were organized at the Lycée Robert Weinum in La Savane as part of the National Day of Resilience "All resilient in the face of risks".

From 9:12 a.m. to 231:XNUMX p.m., all of the school's second classes, i.e. XNUMX high school students, were made aware of the risks and  to the need to reconnect with nature. The National Day of Resilience (JRN) aims to raise awareness, inform and acculturate all citizens to the risks that surround them, in a logic of practical exercises and with the aim of contributing to the preparation of all for good behavior in the event of occurrence of a disaster, including the new generation. For the occasion, the media were invited to this late morning of actions in the presence of Vincent Berton, delegate prefect of the Northern Islands, Harry Christophe, vice-rector and head of the national education service of Saint -Barthélemy and Saint-Martin and Olivier Saunier, principal of the Robert Weinum high school. Several information stands were set up in the courtyard of the establishment, manned by the firefighters, the Red Cross and the territorial police. The conference was given by two speakers, Carole Berthod, for earthquakes, and Jean-Noël Degrace, whose presentation on cyclones was particularly interactive and interesting. The "All resilient to risks" operation was carried out by Fabienne Monmarson, head of the Security service and deputy to the Director of Services of the Cabinet of the Prefecture. If the Prefect Vincent Berton notes a spirit of responsibility and discipline on the part of Saint-Martinois, he recommends, through the national day of resilience, a better awareness of the risk without however resulting in a feeling of fatality: "You have to be aware that you can't control nature, but continue to adapt to your reality with the possible risks by developing more and adopting individual behaviors such as finding out about the weather forecast and protecting yourself from bad weather, this can avoid tragedies. The recent agreements between the State and local radio stations as well as the installation of warning sirens contribute to the culture of risk with continuous communication on the issue. The choice to establish this morning of information within a school underlines the importance of educating Saint-Martin youth about natural disasters, awareness that high school students will be able to spread within their own homes because resilience and Risk awareness is a matter that concerns all generations. Harry Christophe, vice-rector, welcomes the morning action and addressed, during the press point, the problem which particularly affects young people, namely that of the erroneous information which circulates and is relayed on social networks after a natural disaster. For the principal Olivier Saunier, the morning "All resilient in the face of risks" was intended to be the spokesperson for the National Day of Resilience which continued in the afternoon with a public conference-debate at the CCISM. _VX
