Education: No truce for confectioners for the PEP collective!

0

The PEP (Parents-Students-Teachers) collective is once again raising the alarm! Between the meeting with the president of the Collectivity and his team at the beginning of the month and the one organized on the eve of the Christmas holidays at the Cité Scolaire, the Collective can only be worried again and again about the current situation and to come within schools in Saint-Martin. Did you say disturbing?

On December 4, we met the President of the Community and his team. At the end of our interview, we were optimistic on several points:

- Delivery of algécos side college at the start of January

- Delivery of algécos side high school end of January

- Reconstruction of the Collège de Quartier, delivery at the end of 2019. Algecos will be used in the meantime

- Start of work at Simeonne Trott within 15 days with the allocation of all the lots. A return to TPS under study

- Classes available for the end of January for SEGPA classes and workshops at Mont des Accords

- Finalization of work at the LPO

" The engagements are not respected! "

Last Friday, we (The Collective) were again invited to a meeting at the Cité Scolaire initiated by Mr. Pons (National Education Project Director) alongside: Mr. Sanz, Representative of the Rector, The Principal of the high school and his deputy high school side, the Principal of the College and his deputy side college, representatives of the Collectivity, Mr Ogoundele, Mrs Ogoundele, Mr Rocard and Mr Josephine, company manager in charge of the works of the school city.

The announced objective was to take stock of the progress of works at the School City on the eve of the school holidays and therefore of the announced delivery of the college algécos.

Finally, the meeting took another turn, that of explaining to us the difficulties encountered for the delivery of Algecos on the College side. There are multiple arguments:

- The permit has not been filed, so it will be difficult to obtain approval from the security services

- The platform supporting the algecos has been undersized to accommodate the 4 classes

- The gateway has not been delivered

- The company had to slow down, some of its staff not being declared.

The Collective can only worry about the situation: the commitments are not respected!

The reception conditions for students of Soualiga College are unacceptable:

- Timetables "with holes" over very large hours. This leads to: students who roam the streets all day long; a permanent overload of students; a climate of insecurity, tension and violence; absences; parents exhausted by incessant back and forth…. In short, what education? What chances of success do we give our children?

- Lessons from Monday to Saturday

- AP (Personalized Assistance) courses for more than 30 children with 2 teachers

- Noise all day long

The children, parents and educational assistants can not stand it any longer and looked forward to this start of the school year. The Collective calls out again to students, their parents, teachers and education professionals: How long will we be able to accept the unacceptable?

Other concerns are already emerging, that of the start of the 2019 school year: What solutions are there to accommodate the workforce before the delivery of the College 2021?
